There will be no more sharing of the burden.

In the last international break, Oliver Baumann and Alexander Nübel shared goalkeeping duties for Germany as both started one game each. In FC Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen’s absence due to a severe injury, manager Julian Nagelsmann has not yet been able to choose which goalkeeper should be the regular starter in the meantime. It seemed that the choice would be made for him as Baumann got hurt before the international break, but the TSG Hoffenheim goalkeeper made a swift return and got called up for the upcoming international break alongside Nübel.

Instead, Nagelsmann admits that he is likely to choose one over the other during the upcoming Nations League matches against Italy, as captured by @iMiaSanMia: “As of now, the plan is for us to have a number one for both games. We’ll talk to the players first. I won’t say their names now. Stefan [Ortega] is number 3.”

So which goalkeeper will it be? Should it be the Bayern Munich loanee Nübel with his skilled distribution? Or should it be the safe pair of hands of Baumann? Which one should it be? Let us know down below.
