Talk about beating a dead horse.
Will Leroy Sané ever manage to dodge his body language critics?
The topic cropped up again after Bayern Munich’s loss last weekend to VfL Bochum, when Sané was captured shoving the fourth official out of the way during his substitution. The official was giving instructions to Konrad Laimer and Michael Olise before they came onto the field, while Sané, walking off, was trying to reach his teammates.
It was not a good look for the Bayern winger.
Separately, Sané was apparently captured looking dour while his teammates were celebrating.
But head coach Vincent Kompany — a former teammate of Sané’s in his time at Manchester City — came to his defense.
“I’ve known Leroy for a long time. It only looks like this, but it’s fine honestly,” Kompany said ahead of Bayern’s Bundesliga match against Union Berlin on Saturday (captured via @iMiaSanMia). “If you go back and see his games as a youth player you’ll probably find the same images. But the next day or same evening he’s laughing and part of the team. The thing I can tell you is that he’s absolutely fine.”
Maybe that can be the last word on that.
