Chelsea have been told that one of the young talents who Enzo Maresca sent out on loan last summer is now ‘the best midfielder’ in his league.

The Blues have been adding some serious young talents to their ranks over recent months including Dario Essugo who Chelsea signed for £18m and also Geovany Quenda from Sporting CP.

Estaveo Willian will arrive at Chelsea in the summer from Palmerias with Enzo Maresca set to have several big young talents at his disposal.

But, there is another young talent who is set to return to Stamford Bridge next season who’s been seriously impressing out on loan.

Strasbourg manager Liam Rosenior claims Andrey Santos is the best midfielder in Ligue 1 after he scored the winning goal in their 2-1 win over Toulouse.

Santos has been impressive for Strasbourg this season and looks like a player who could now have a bright future at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea have decided Santos will be part of the first team next season as he continues to prove why Chelsea paid £17m to sign Santos back in 2023.

Speaking after the win, Rosenior told the media: “Andrey is the best midfielder in the league for me. He deserved a goal. He’s everywhere on the pitch, in both areas. The goal reflects the player and the season he’s having.”

Chelsea also have Djordje Petrovic impressing on loan at Strasbourg with the Serbian expected to also be part of the West London club’s plans for next season.

Santos has now taken his tally to nine goals for the season after his crucial second-half strike against Toulouse.

The win means that Strasbourg are just one point off a European spot and four off of Champions League qualification.
