‘Proud’: Amad Diallo sends six-word message to Harry Amass after making his Man United debut vs Leicester

Manchester United youngster Harry Amass made his debut for the club in their comfortable 3-0 win away to Leicester City on Sunday.

Amass has been impressing for Man United’s youth sides for some time now, a youngster who first appeared on the first team scene when Erik ten Hag was still in charge at Old Trafford.

And in the 69th minute of United’s victory, Amorim decided to give Amass a chance in fairly comfortable circumstances with his side 2-0 up.

United unfortunately lost Ayden Heaven to injury at the start of the second half, a youngster who was arguably enjoying his best performance in a United shirt yet.

But after Heaven’s departure, Amass eventually came on in a left wing-back role, playing on the opposing side to Diogo Dalot.

Amad Diallo sends jovial message to Harry Amass after his Man United debut

That being said, Amad Diallo was one of several United players who replied to Amass’ Instagram post after his United debut at Leicester.

Amass posted a collection of five photos from the win and his first senior minutes for the club alongside a caption of: “Amazing feeling to make my debut for such a massive club and a great win for the team.”

The likes of Diogo Dalot, Bruno Fernandes and Mason Mount all replied, but it was Diallo’s jovial response which stood out the most.

Diallo said he was proud of Amass’ display, referring to the 18-year-old as his ‘son’.

Diallo jokingly wrote: “Congrats MY SON , DADY IS PROUD.”

Of course, United fans will welcome a more light-hearted tone around the club right now given it’s been all doom and gloom at Old Trafford for far too long.

Ruben Amorim sends clear message to Harry Amass

Recently Joshua Zirkzee described Amorim in one word, a statement that seems rather accurate.

And when speaking in his post-match press conference Amorim was asked about Amass’ debut, one of many youngsters who featured in the feel-good win for United.

Whilst Amorim appeared pleased for Amass to make his debut on his birthday, he seemed equally keen to keep the youngster’s feet grounded.

Amorim said: “Sometimes you can see all the situations in the game, you have these opportunities, you have your academy for these moments.

“You have some moments that some players are injured and they have this opportunity and Harry Amass and all these young kids have to understand that they are so lucky for playing for Manchester United.

“And that is so important for him so that is the best gift that he can expect.”
