‘I want to’: Arsenal star now reinforces report claiming he is going to leave this summer

Arsenal fans may see a few players leave the Emirates Stadium this summer.

Kieran Tierney will join Celtic when his contract expires this summer – as already confirmed by the Scottish giants – while Thomas Partey is also set to see his deal end.

Furthermore, Raheem Sterling will return to Chelsea when his season-long loan expires.

However, there is another Arsenal player with an uncertain future in Jorginho – who has now shared some interesting comments.

Jorginho adds fuel to the fire regarding rumours of a move to Brazil

Back in February, Rudy Galetti claimed that Jorginho has signed a pre-contract with Flamengo ahead of a free transfer switch to the Brazilian giants this summer.

The Italian sees his contract expire in July – although Arsenal do hold an option to extend the deal by a further 12 months.

However, it feels as if Jorginho himself may not want the Gunners to trigger that clause.

Speaking to ESPN, the Arsenal No.20 said: “I want to experience that. I don’t think I missed out, but I’m curious today to know what it’s like (to play in Brazil) – to experience it. But playing professionally wasn’t a big part of my development. What helped me was when I was a kid, for my growth. In Brazil, it’s a different story. I played barefoot in the street, on the beach. I think it helped me a lot in terms of my contact with the ball.”

A free transfer would see Arsenal make no return on the £12m spent to sign Jorginho from Chelsea back in January 2023.

However, the north Londoners could trigger that 12-month extension option before looking to sell the 33-year-old for a fee.

Arsenal already expect to sign Jorginho replacement

An exit for Jorginho does seem likely, as Arsenal already appear to have lined up his replacement.

Arsenal believe Martin Zubimendi will leave Real Sociedad to join them this summer, after the Spain international rejected Liverpool last summer in preference of staying in San Sebastien.

Arsenal also like Adam Wharton – with Mikel Arteta potentially needing two new central midfielders if Partey is not offered a new contract.
