The transfer window is creeping up on us, and as silly season approaches, the rumour mill is starting to amp up.

Indeed, over the next few months, you’re going to hear tons of stories about a number of players potentially making moves this summer.

Arsenal have already been linked with a number of players heading into the summer.

Nico Williams has been linked to Arsenal, while Ollie Watkins is on Arsenal’s radar as well.

Arsenal have also been linked to Alexander Isak, and Isak isn’t the only Newcastle player who has been linked with Arsenal.

Indeed, Arsenal have also apparently looked at Bruno Guimaraes, and speaking on his YouTube channel, Fabrizio Romano has shared some insight into Arsenal and Guimaraes.

Fabrizio Romano shares Bruno Guimaraes to Arsenal update

Romano shared what he knows about Guimaraes amid these recent links to Arsenal.

According to the journalist, there hasn’t actually been any concrete talks between Arsenal and Guimaraes.

Romano says that Guimaraes was an option for Arsenal when Edu was in charge, but Edu has since resigned, so the stance may have changed.

“The final topic is involving Bruno Guimaraes,” Romano said.

“We are having many reports on Bruno Guimaraes, reports about Arsenal and other clubs interested in Bruno Guimaraes.

“What I am able to tell you today is that despite all of the stories involving Arsenal, I’m not aware of any concrete negotiation or concrete contact between Arsenal or Bruno Guimaraes.

“He was on the list when the director was Edu Gaspar, they’re Brazilians, so the connection is there. Now the new director is Andrea Berta, and at the moment I’m not aware of any direct contact for Bruno Guimaraes and Arsenal.”

Bruno Guimaraes has been compared to Declan Rice

Guimaraes to Arsenal doesn’t appear to be advanced at the moment, but, as the old saying goes, there’s no smoke without fire.

Arsenal could opt to go for Guimaraes this summer.

Interestingly, Guimaraes has been compared to Declan Rice in the past by Michail Antonio.

Antonio reckons that Rice is much better than Guimaraes.

“Are you kidding me? Can Bruno defend? You need someone who can get forward and get back, who can dribble, who’s got skills and can score goals. Declan Rice is a madness,” Antonio said.

“Bruno can’t do what Dec does.”

Whether you prefer Guimaraes to Rice or vice versa is up for debate, but one thing is for sure, these two would make an incredible midfield partnership were they to combine in the same Arsenal team.

Guimaraes could be the type of signing who helps Arsenal turn into title contenders.
