‘Already done’: Martin Keown reckons Arsenal already have one signing secured for the summer

Arsenal are once again heading into the summer transfer window with plenty of work to do.

Indeed, Arsenal are set to fall short in the title race again this season, and the north London club need that extra push in order to get over the line next season.

Of course, it’s not difficult to figure out which position Arsenal need to prioritise.

It’s obvious for all to see that the Gunners need a striker.

Indeed, Kai Havertz is out for the season, and that injury has only served to highlight the lack of depth in the Gunners’ attack at the moment.

Speaking on TNT Sports, Martin Keown has been discussing Arsenal’s striker search, and he’s come up with an interesting theory.

Martin Keown says Arsenal have already signed a striker

Keown shared an interesting theory as Arsenal search to bolster their frontline.

The pundit suggests that Arsenal have already sorted out a deal for a new striker, claiming that Arsenal won’t be making the mistake of not signing a new centre-forward again this summer.

“Sesko at Leipzig is more of a player who is easier to attain than Isak, and he’s an up-and-comer,” The host said.

“I would suggest that there’s already been a player bought, and that it’s already done from an Arsenal point of view. They won’t be making this mistake again,” Keown said.

Why Arsenal aren’t likely to have already signed a striker.

Keown reckons that Arsenal may have already done a deal to sign a new striker, but that point of view is optimistic to say the least.

Indeed, as exciting as it is to believe that Arsenal have signed a new striker, this isn’t likely to be the reality.

Arsenal’s transfer structure is a bit of a mess at the moment, Edu resigned earlier this year, and while Andrea Berta is set to join Arsenal soon, that deal hasn’t been finalised yet.

Therefore, it’s illogical to believe that Arsenal have already done a deal for a new striker, because, at the moment, they’re waiting for their new Sporting Director to get started.

That said, Arsenal do still have some targets in mind heading into the summer.

Benjamin Sesko has been linked to Arsenal, while Mikel Arteta could go back for Ollie Watkins.

Alexander Isak has been constantly linked to Arsenal too.

A deal probably isn’t done just yet, but make no mistake about it, Arsenal will be bringing in a new number nine this summer.
