Will the two sides talk more this summer?

According to a report from Bild (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), Bayern Munich and star center-back Dayot Upamecano are not close on an agreement for a contract extension:

Both Bayern and Dayot Upamecano are very interested in a contract extension beyond 2026, but their financial expectations are still apart. Therefore, a quick agreement is still not in sight at the moment.

The Frenchman has gathered many arguments for a lucrative new contract with his performances this season, and is aware of the terms other key players like Musiala, Davies and Kimmich extended at. If Upamecano now receives the club’s ‘financial appreciation’, nothing stands in the way of an extension.

It seems like this is all just a formality — as long as Bayern Munich puts a number in front of Upamecano that the player thinks is appropriate. That should not be a problem, but Bayern Munich is still attempting to be cost-conscious with its salary budget, which could complicate matters a bit.
