Not good…below not good.
According to a report from Bild (via @iMiaSanMia), Bayern Munich center-back Dayot Upamecano could be in some trouble.
The German outlet indicates that the Frenchman’s knee injury is worse than expected and that in addition to “loose bodies” in the knee, Upamecano also has cartilage damage. His timeline for a return could be as much three months — which would effectively end his season:
Dayot Upamecano’s knee injury is worse than first thought. New tests have revealed cartilage damage. He’s expected to be sidelined for at least 3 months. Unless there’s a ‘miracle recovery’, his season is already over. Upamecano is in Innsbruck to undergo surgery – the exact time off will be known afterwards.
Just yesterday, Le Parisien (via @iMiaSanMia) reported that Upamecano could be back in roughly six-to-eight weeks, but that no longer seems to be the case:
In the best case scenario, Dayot Upamecano will be back on the pitch in the first half of May. He will miss the Champions League quarterfinal as well as a potential semifinal, but would be available for the final if Bayern made it there.
