‘He’s a very complete striker’: Dean Huijsen blown away by forward Liverpool are optimistic of signing this summer

Liverpool are set for a busy summer on the transfer front as Arne Slot looks to strengthen his ranks and potentially replace key players who leave.

Liverpool are set to lose Trent Alexander-Arnold to Real Madrid, while the Anfield futures of Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk remain up in the air.

Although the Reds are favourites to win the Premier League title, they disappointed in the Champions League and domestic cups, suggesting a need for more strength in depth.

In addition, Liverpool have only brought one new player to Anfield over the past 12 months – Federico Chiesa – so there’s certainly scope for more signings this summer.

Now, Bournemouth star and Liverpool target Dean Huijsen has sung the praises of a striker the Reds are optimistic of signing this summer.

Dean Huijsen says Alexander Isak is one of the toughest opponents he has faced in the Premier League

The player in question is Newcastle United forward Alexander Isak, whose trajectory this season has been nothing short of stratospheric.

TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey recently revealed that Liverpool are confident they can pull off a deal to sign Isak this summer.

Liverpool are also interested in signing Huijsen in wake of his rise to prominence at Bournemouth this season.

On Wednesday, Huijsen named the three toughest opponents he’s dealt with in the Premier League so far, and Isak made the cut.

“I think he’s a very complete striker,” the Spain international told ESPN. “Tall, fast and strong, he can dribble, shoot and pass. I think he’s a very complete striker.”

Huijsen also named Liverpool star Mohamed Salah and Manchester City ace Erling Haaland as opponents he’s found tough to go up against.

What Arne Slot has said about Alexander Isak

Isak’s heroics this season have been the talk of players, coaches and fans across the world of football.

Slot couldn’t sing Isak’s praises highly enough ahead of their third encounter of the season, the Carabao Cup final.

“Looking at Newcastle, we played them twice,” he said.” In the last game Isak wasn’t involved, the game before he was involved.

“He’s such an important player for them and an unbelievable threat.

“He has the speed that the attackers of PSG had yesterday as well, and they were more than I would’ve liked in front of Alisson in the last two games we played them.”
