Not another one…
Bayern Munich boss Vincent Kompany is under fire in some circles for his handling of injured players, so it might seem natural that the boss was less-than-committal on addressing when midfielder Aleksandar Pavlović will be ready to return from his bout with mono.
“I can’t say much about that; he needs time. We always check with players when they have problems, what that means medically. He needs time; we’re not putting any pressure on him and are taking it week by week. When the doctors say he’s ready to play, we’ll work out a plan,” said Kompany (as captured by @iMiaSanMia)
Since breaking his collarbone last fall, Pavlović’s season has become snakebitten. Unable to rediscover the form he had early in the season, this illness comes at a tough time as it looked like the youngster was finally making some progress on the pitch.
Hopefully, Bayern Munich — and Pavlović — take the necessary time to allow him to fully recover. Just nine days ago, the midfielder was working on his comeback and now, it is uncertain when he will be ready.
