The injury gods are not content with just the players getting hurt.
Bayern Munich’s list of ill and injured players has shot up in recent weeks. Dayot Upamecano, Alphonso Davies, Kingsley Coman and Manuel Neuer are out injured while Aleksandar Pavlović’s return from illness is progressing at a very slow pace. But never fear, players, Bayern’s executives have decided to make their players feel better by suffering illness themselves.
Well, perhaps that was not the motive, but the end result of ill executives is unfortunately true. According to Bild, as captured by @iMiaSanMia, board member for sport Max Eberl and supervisory board member Uli Hoeneß are ill and therefore missed Bayern’s 3-2 Bundesliga win over St. Pauli:
Max Eberl and Uli Hoeneß did not attend today’s game due to illness. Eberl has bronchitis and fever.
Nobody is safe. Who is next? Are the physios going to get ill? Are we fans on the line as well? Is Berni going to be OK? These are grim times for Bayern.
On a serious note, get well soon, Eberl and Hoeneß.
