Bayern needed all of the firepower they had to put away St. Pauli on Saturday.

That was a great game for the neutrals.

Plucky FC St. Pauli got dominated by Bayern Munich but refused to go down without a fight, finding their way to generate a share of threatening chances and even making good on a couple of them — all the while defending very diligently against a Bayern attack that was operating smoothly.

In the end Bayern quality won out, a 3-2 home result, with terrific days from the entire front four: Michael Olise, Jamal Musiala, Leroy Sané, and Harry Kane. It took all of those efforts to score the three goals that ultimately were required to collect the points.

St. Pauli are hovering not too far outside the relegation spots but did not look like a team about to go down. Bayern, meanwhile, need to look ahead on a short turnaround to next Friday at Augsburg…and then the Champions League quarters on Tuesday back at the Allianz vs. Inter Milan.

Here’s how Bild rated the performances. Have your own say below the jump:

Enter your choices below. As usual, the rundown of the ‘rules’ — as this is a very serious, very scientific internet poll:

  • You may vote on as many or few of the fields as you like. You do not need a complete ballot.
  • It is possible to vote more than once, but please do not do that!
  • If signed into Google, you will be able to edit your vote. However sign-in is not required, and we do not collect e-mail addresses.
