After a loan within the German Bundesliga, Krätzig is set to make the jump across the border.

Bayern Munich defender Frans Krätzig is set for a permanent — for now — departure to the Austrian Bundesliga after a successful loan stint this season at FC Heidenheim.

From Sky Sport DE journalist Florian Plettenberg, as captured by @iMiaSanMia:

Frans Krätzig is set to undergo his medical at RB Salzburg next week ahead of a €3.5m permanent move. Bayern have secured a buy-back clause, which Christoph Freund insisted on [@Plettigoal]

Krätzig, 22, was initially loaned out to VfB Stuttgart but could not break into the team. In the Hinrunde, he played only one match for the Swabians in the first team and two matches in VfB II in the 3. Liga.

Since moving to Heidenheim, however — where Bayern prospect Paul Wanner also played on loan this year — Krätzig has shined, starting in 15 matches for the relegation battlers.

Heidenheim faces a relegation playoff against the 2. Bundesliga’s SV Elversberg.
