It’s going to be one of those Sundays…
Reports have been swirling regarding Thomas Müller’s future at Bayern Munich.
On Friday, we saw Sport Bild report that the aging star was not going to be offered a new deal. Earlier today, kicker released a report indicating that it was the club who has made the decision to walk away from Müller.
Now, to complete the trinity of sources of German outlets, Sky Sport is saying that there is no confirmation on anything just yet — but also that is still does not look good:
Bayern are still in talks with Thomas Müller, but the clear tendency based on the latest discussions is that Müller will leave the club at the end of the season. None of the parties involved – including the player’s camp – have yet to confirm that Müller’s departure has been finalized. However, the player has already received offers from the MLS.
If Abendzeitung, Sport1, or Tz check in with news, we will add that here as well.
Whatever the case, the timing of this news comes at a terrible juncture. With the club reeling due to injuries at a key point of the season, the news that the club is willing to let Müller walk away despite wanting to return could be yet another distraction.
That does not even include what could be a bitter fan reaction to the news — if true.
