Is this a chance to turn the page for Bayern Munich?
Bayern Munich is getting down to crunch time with needing to make a decision on Leroy Sané.
The free agent-to-be is starting to heat up after a relatively frigid season, but are his recent performances enough for Bayern Munich to be convinced that he deserves a new contact? The feeling for many fans is that Bayern Munich would ask the winger to take a pay cut and then happily include him in the squad for another two-to-three years…but should the club do that? It could be very hard to sell off Kingsley Coman and Serge Gnabry, which could mean that all three wingers will be back for 2025/26 — a trio that has not exactly lived up to expectations or their lofty salaries.
Arsenal FC is rumored to really want Sané and after almost four years of middling play, this could be the perfect chance to cut ties and reboot the position, while letting Sané make the move to a good team in a great league. In many respects, it would be a good thing for all parties as Arsenal will likely top what Bayern Munich will offer Sané.
At a time where the club is penny-pinching enough to — allegedly — not even talk to Thomas Müller about a cut-rate deal, should it just sever ties with Sané while they are at it?
