Liverpool might well be in the market for a new centre-forward come the end of the season.
Indeed, with Darwin Nunez expected to leave Liverpool and Alexander Isak linked with a move to Merseyside, the Reds could be in the market for a new striker.
Liverpool have money to spend this summer. In fact, Liverpool could feasibly afford Alexander Isak.
However, speaking on TalkSPORT, Ally McCoist has offered up another striker suggestion for the Reds.
Indeed, McCoist says that if he was in charge of Liverpool, he’d make a play to sign Harry Kane.
Kane has a £54m release clause at Bayern Munich that comes into effect soon, and McCoist thinks Liverpool could be an ideal landing spot for the striker.

Ally McCoist says Liverpool should go for Harry Kane
McCoist spoke about Kane and where he could end up.
The pundit says that Liverpool should make a move for the England captain, claiming he would score tons of goals for the Reds.
McCoist actually said that if Kane were to return to England, Liverpool are the club he could see the striker joining.
“If I was Liverpool I would test the water with Harry Kane. I think Harry Kane would score a phenomenal amount of goals in the Liverpool team,” McCoist said.
“He’s not going to come to Arsenal, we get that, he won’t go to City because of Haaland. If he was going to come back to anybody, I could see him in a Liverpool jersey.”
Harry Kane record vs Liverpool
Kane joining Liverpool would be one of the most blockbuster transfers in the Reds’ history.
Kane is undoubtedly one of the best strikers in the world, and Kane would suit Liverpool brilliantly.
Interestingly, Kane has a terrible record against Liverpool over the years.
The England captain has played 17 matches against the Reds, but he’s only been on the winning side once, and his goalscoring ratio against the Merseyside club isn’t that brilliant either, compared to other clubs.

As the old saying goes, if you can’t beat them, join them, and after so many years of struggling against Liverpool, Kane’s best bet may be to join the Reds.
Harry Kane would surely want to win a Premier League title before his career is over, and his best chance of doing that may be to join Arne Slot’s side.
Who knows? Perhaps this one could be a situation to keep an eye on. After all, stranger things have happened in football.
