Aston Villa is a vibrant place to be right now.
Unai Emery has – quite simply – transformed the Villans, who languished down in 16th place in the Premier League before the Spaniard replaced Steven Gerrard in October 2022.
Aston Villa now find themselves in the last eight of the UEFA Champions League – where Bayern Munich await – and have a trip to Wembley booked to face Crystal Palace in the FA Cup next month, with a place in the final up for grabs.
However, despite all the positivity, there is one issue lingering at Villa Park regarding Boubacar Kamara – which could soon lead to unprecedented scenes.
Aston Villa ready to make “historic” offer to Boubacar Kamara
A story from Foot Mercato now states that Aston Villa are willing to do whatever it takes to keep the France international at Villa Park – amid doubts over his future.
The French news outlet claim that Aston Villa plan to hand Kamara – who impressed Pep Guardiola – a “historic” contract as rival clubs circle around the situation, with the impending offer described as an “unprecedented” one for the Villans.
As things stand, the Aston Villa No.44 is contracted to the club until June 2027, although Foot Mercato state that he is eager to continue playing in the UEFA Champions League, and qualification for the competition this season will be a factor in whether he signs a new deal or not.
Foot Mercato suggest Aston Villa would be prepared to offer Boubacar Kamara at least £300,000-a-week
If Aston Villa really are ready to offer Kamara, who Liverpool wanted, more than they have offered anyone else in history, the saga involving Jack Grealish suggests the Frenchman could earn at least £300,000.
We say that because – according to Kaveh Solhekol of Sky Sports – Aston Villa actually offered the England international more than Manchester City did in an attempt to prevent his £100m move to the Etihad Stadium materialising in August 2021.
Aston Villa were willing to pay Jack Grealish more than he will earn at Man City. He wants to win PL/CL. Villa accept his decision and wish him well. There is no bitterness. Hopefully fans will accept his decision as well and this won’t taint his legacy.

Grealish currently earns £300,000-a-week at Manchester City, which means, if Foot Mercato are accurate with their information, Kamara is set to be offered more.
