Man United ‘eyeing £60m swoop’ for standout Crystal Palace star who could thrive in Ruben Amorim’s 3-4-3 system

Manchester United are reportedly given serious consideration to moving for Crystal Palace attacker Eberechi Eze this summer.

The 26-year-old has been in strong form for Palace during the 2024-25 campaign, scoring six goals and registering nine assists in 31 appearances in all competitions, and he has excelled for the Eagles since arriving from Queens Park Rangers in August 2020.

Eze has 32 goals and 26 assists in 155 appearances for Palace, including 28 goals and 21 assists in 136 Premier League appearances, while the attacker is also now very much in the England set-up, scoring once in 10 appearances.

The playmaker was called into Thomas Tuchel‘s first squad for the March internationals, and he came off the bench to score in England’s 3-0 success over Latvia at Wembley Stadium on March 24.

There was speculation surrounding Eze’s future during last summer’s transfer window, but he ultimately remained at Selhurst Park.

Palace are seemingly facing a battle to keep the attacker for another campaign, as according to TEAMtalk, Man United are among the clubs interested in securing his signature during the upcoming market.

Man United ‘considering big-money Eze move’

The report claims that Man United’s director of recruitment Christopher Vivell and technical director Jason Wilcox are currently working to identify possible targets for the summer window, and Eze is high on the club’s shortlist.

Red Devils head coach Ruben Amorim is also reportedly a huge admirer of Eze, believing that he would be ideal to operate as one of the number 10s in his 3-4-3 system.

Palace have Eze on a contract until June 2027, though, and it is understood that the club not consider offers of under £60m, so there will be no chance of a cut-price deal during the summer market.

Tottenham Hotspur are also believed to be huge admirers of Eze, while there have also previously been suggestions of interest from Manchester City, as the Citizens look to bring in a replacement for Kevin De Bruyne.

Would Eze be a good signing for Man United?

Eze is perfect for one of the number 10 spots in a 3-4-3 system, so it is not difficult to understand why Man United are being linked with the Englishman.

Capable of producing goals and assists, Eze is also excellent when it comes to carrying the ball from deep areas, and a lack of a threat on the transition has been one of the main criticisms levelled at Man United this season.

Amorim desperately needs players this summer who will fit into his system, and the Palace attacker does look to be the ideal signing for the Red Devils, who should have no problems generating the funds required to acquire him, with Marcus Rashford, Antony and Jadon Sancho all set to leave Old Trafford permanently at the end of the season.
