Bayern Munich has some issues in the front office…
Depending on what you believe, Bayern Munich’s front office could be a battleground at this point.
Yet another report came out indicating that board member for sport Max Eberl is under fires. This time, Abendzeitung journalist Maximilian Koch (via @iMiaSanMia) stepped to the plate with his account of the situation:
After just over a year with Max Eberl at FC Bayern, the situation has become so dire that even a departure this summer is no longer ruled out. Eberl’s contract runs until 2027, but the supervisory board has been considering how to restructure the sporting leadership for some time.
It is said that Christoph Freund is being trusted to be capable of taking Eberl’s position if the need arises. But Bayern are also looking for external solutions – Mario Gomez and Ralf Rangnick were discussed, but not in concrete terms so far. CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen recently concluded the contract negotiations with Musiala and Kimmich — Eberl was no longer involved.
This…just keeps getting more and more weird. Eberl went from being lauded for his work on the recent contract extensions to not even being in the room when Joshua Kimmich and Jamal Musiala finalized their deals?
While this is likely confusing for many fans, it does appear that not everything is aligned between the front office and the supervisory board.
