TBR Football understands that Wolves midfielder Joao Gomes is a summer transfer target for Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool and Aston Villa.
Gomes has just committed his future to Wolverhampton Wanderers by signing a new deal, however, he remains on the radar of several Premier League clubs.
Getting him out of Mollineux will be tricky though, as the Midlands clubs are hoping they will be able to price him out of a move away.
Vitor Pereira is keen to keep the midfielder for at least another season and continue to pair him with fellow countryman Andre in the middle of the park.
Joao Gomes does not have a release clause at Wolves
Sources have told Graeme Bailey – chief correspondent at TBR Football that Joao Gomes’ new contract with Wolves does not contain a release clause.
Therefore, the Premier League club hold the power in how much he is worth and it is believed that it would take a ‘substantial amount’ for them to consider offers.
Tottenham, Liverpool and Aston Villa are all keen on Gomes, who Guardiola has called ‘quality’, but all three clubs would face a tough battle in attempting to pry him away from Wolverhampton.
The Midlands club believe the Brazilian international is up there with the best in Europe and that is why they value him so highly.
Joao Gomes and Andre could become Brazil’s midfield duo at the World Cup
There is also the fact that Gomes is currently expected to be part of Brazil’s World Cup squad and he could even be a starter for Selecao.
The 24-year-old might be partnered with his Wolves teammate Andre, who has also broken into the Brazilian national team.
Andre started in their 4-1 defeat to Argentina during the last international break, with the duo playing alongside one another in Buenos Aires.
