City, meanwhile, still has a lot of work to do to secure a Champions League place for next season. Pep Guardiola’s team currently sits fifth in the table, which may prove to be enough for a spot at Europe’s top table.

Early team news

United remains without Lisandro Martinez, Amad Diallo, Luke Shaw and Jonny Evans, while January signing Ayden Heaven has joined them in the treatment room recently and will miss out on a first Manchester derby appearance.

Amorim also faces doubts over Matthijs de Ligt and Kobbie Mainoo, with his options in defense running out which could lead to Harry Maguire starting.

As for City, Erling Haaland will be a big miss, with the striker potentially missing the rest of the league campaign. Long-term absentee Rodri remains out, with Nathan Ake, John Stones and Manuel Akanji also missing, giving Guardiola few options at center-back.
