Ruben Amorim has accused Gary Neville of being ‘critical about everything’ after his no-nonsense analysis of the Manchester derby.
The former Manchester United defender didn’t hold back as he slammed the quality of Sunday’s goalless clash with Manchester City.

United mustered just two shots on target during a quiet derby at Old Trafford.
Neville launched into an explosive rant during his analysis on Sky Sports, which even saw him apologise for his own performance on co-commentary.
He fumed: “I think they all walked off thinking ‘we’re okay here, we got away without making a mistake’. That was the sort of type of game. It was really disappointing.
“I apologise for my co-commentary actually, I think I let it get to me. I was boring on there as well, drab as well. Honestly, the whole game.”
Neville also called for more intensity from his old club, adding: “United’s goalkeeper [Andre Onana] rolling his foot on the ball and waiting for things to happen, that’s not it. That’s not what this club is, that’s not what we do here. Liverpool don’t do that.
“You’ve got to be a top team with tempo in your play, rhythm in your play, get the ball moving, shift it quickly.”
Amorim has now hit back with an answer that had some reporters laughing during his own post-match press conference.
When responding to a question about Neville’s comments, Amorim smiled as he said: “I understand that Gary Neville is critical about everything so I understand that part.
“Then I understand that we are in the moment that we are doing the worst season in history. Manchester City won everything in the past, (but) this season is struggling.
“So we are not in the best moments to give the best spectacle to every fan. We are not fighting for the big things so of course it’s different but you have to look at the context of the game.

“I understand the critical aspect of the players that played in this game in a different way because they were fighting every time for the titles so it’s a different context.”
Neville won 25 trophies during his time with United, including the treble and eight Premier League titles.
However, both Manchester clubs are at risk of ending the current campaign without any silverware.
United are 13th in the table with seven matches remaining following Sunday’s draw.
As a result, they are on course for their lowest league finish since the 1989/90 campaign more than three decades ago.
Amorim would also need to win all seven remaining fixtures to avoid finishing on the club’s lowest Premier League points tally.
He could still win a trophy, though, with his side remaining in the Europa League.
The Red Devils face Lyon in the quarter-finals, with the first leg in France coming up on Thursday.
