Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka has recently made his comeback after spending over three months sidelined with a hamstring injury.

Arsenal’s ‘starboy’ marked his return in style last Tuesday, scoring just seven minutes after coming off the bench against Fulham.

The Gunners are set to face off against Spanish giants Real Madrid tonight in a mouth-watering Champions League quarter-final tie.

Saka is in line to start and in the press conference ahead of the tie, he deposited a suggestion for future transfer business to Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta.

Bukayo Saka tells Arsenal to trust in academy talent

Arsenal’s renowned Hale End academy has come to the fore this season with youngsters like Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly shining for the north London side.

Saka has suggested that Arsenal should continue in a similar vein, continuing to place trust in their emerging academy stars.

He said: “This is Arsenal It’s what we do. We’ve done it in the past.

“I hope we can continue to keep doing it so we can save more money”.

Mikel Arteta lost serious talents in Ayden Heaven and Chido Obi

However, in recent seasons, Arsenal have seen some of their top talents slip through the net from their Hale End academy, with some questioning the pathway from the academy to the first team.

Most notably perhaps, Manchester United were able to pick up both Ayden Heaven and Chido Obi.

The pair were very promising, with Chido Obi in particular catching the eye for his goalscoring antics in the Gunners youth setup.

Heaven made a very impressive start to his Manchester United career but unfortunately picked up an injury against Leicester City with his return date unclear.

The Gunners will surely be eager to ensure none of their emerging academy stars follow suit in departing the club.

With Saka, Lewi-Skelly and Nwaneri all likely to feature against Real Madrid, it could be a defining night for Arsenal’s Hale End academy.
