Arsenal clearly need a new striker in the summer transfer window.
The Gunners have been courting a new centre-forward for a long time now, and according to Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal will definitely sign a new striker this summer.
A number of top forwards have been linked to Arsenal as of late.
Alexander Isak is Arsenal’s dream target, Ollie Watkins is on Arsenal’s radar too, while Benjamin Sesko has been linked to Arsenal too.
Speaking on TalkSPORT, Gabriel Agbonlahor has now suggested that another exciting striker could be north London-bound, claiming that he could really see Liam Delap going to Arsenal.
Gabriel Agbonlahor could see Liam Delap at Arsenal
Agbonlahor spoke about Delap amid his links to Manchester United.
The pundit says that Delap should go elsewhere, claiming that he could see the £20m man heading to Arsenal this summer.
“It’s negative at the moment, Manchester United. Anyone who goes there, bar Fernandes, has been a disappointment in recent years,” Agbonlahor said.
“I would go to a different club, I’d want to go to Arsenal. I could see him at Arsenal, I really could, but has he done enough yet to warrant a move to a team fighting for a Premier League title? I don’t know, but I do really rate him, great finisher, big strong lad.”
Big-money signings from relegated clubs
It would be easy for Arsenal fans to turn their noses up at the idea of signing Delap. After all, the striker is about to be relegated with Ipswich Town.
However, there have been some top players to come from relegated clubs in recent years.
Indeed, the gulf between the Premier League and the Championship isn’t what it used to be, and some incredible players have been relegated only to star in the Premier League on their return to the top flight.

Romeo Lavia | Southampton | Chelsea |
James Maddison | Leicester | Tottenham |
Harvey Barnes | Leicester | Newcastle |
Aaron Ramsdale | Sheffield United | Arsenal |
Nathan Ake | Bournemouth | Manchester City |
James Maddison is one of Spurs’ best players, Harvey Barnes is brilliant for Newcastle, while Nathan Ake is bordering on being a Man City legend.
Arsenal themselves have explored this market in the past. Aaron Ramsdale was signed from Sheffield United after they were relegated, and Ramsdale would become a fan favourite after joining the Gunners.
Arsenal need a new striker in the summer, and who knows? Perhaps Delap could be just the man they’re looking for.
