Luka Modric dropped for Real Madrid’s trip to face Arsenal

Luka Modric has been dropped to the bench for Real Madrid’s clash against Arsenal on Tuesday evening, according to Marca.

Carlo Ancelotti has chosen to select a midfield trio of Eduardo Camavinga, Federico Valverde, and Jude Bellingham for the game at the Emirates Stadium.

Modric, who has been described as ‘out of this world’, has started in four of Madrid’s last six matches, including their most recent one in which they lost 2-1 to Valencia.

Elsewhere, the Spanish publication reveals that Vinicius Jr, Rodrygo Goes and Kylian Mbappe will form Los Blancos’ attack in North London.

The Italian manager has also opted to make two big calls at full-back with David Alaba starting at left-back and Lucas Vazquez starting on the right.

Alaba will be tasked with stopping Bukayo Saka and the other side, Vazquez is set to be up against Gabriel Martinelli who is returning to form.

It’s unclear at this stage who will start in goal and at centre-back, although Thibaut Courtois is back and available after injury.

How influential is Luka Modric for Real Madrid?

Despite now being aged 39, Modric remains a key player for the European champions which is quite a remarkable achievement.
