Five of Mikel Arteta’s key lieutenants at Arsenal have signed new contracts with the club.
First-team assistants Albert Stuivenberg and Carlos Questa, first-team coach Miguel Molina, goalkeeping coach Inald Cana and set-piece specialist Nicolas Jover have all put pen to paper extending their stays with the club.
Arteta himself signed a new contract last September, which runs until 2027, and, at the time, he indicated that he was looking to tie down his backroom staff to new deals. The delay in doing so he has since attributed getting five people to agree to the same action.
Stuivenberg and Cuesta had previously been linked with managerial roles at other clubs, but it seems they are now sufficiently convinced by the project in London N5 to stay a while longer.
Meanwhile. Jover has become a familiar face to Premier League fans, as he animatedly orchestrats Arsenal’s set-piece deliveries from the sidelines, and much of their success in scoring goals from them has been attributed to the work he does working on them on the training ground.
