Keeping it in the family.

Another Hoeneß rises at Bayern Munich.

This time it is Benjamin, nephew of Uli — and brother to VfB Stuttgart coach Sebastian — who has assumed the mantle of “Director of Global Partnerships” with a focus on the club’s development in North America.

The news was announced in February. As captured below via @iMiaSanMia:

Benjamin Hoeneß (Uli Hoeneß’ nephew and Sebastian Hoeneß’ brother) has been appointed Bayern’s ‘Director of Global Partnerships’. He will manage the club’s international activities together with Peter Romics, and will report directly to CFO Michael Diederich. The focus is primarily on North America. Benjamin Hoeneß has been working at Bayern since 2007 in various roles.

Bayern’s international visibility and presence is an important part of its status as a leading footballing brand and financial powerhouse. As the top German club the Bavarians are also an ambassador for the Bundesliga worldwide.
