Arsenal beat Real Madrid this week in what was perhaps the Gunners’ best performance of the Emirates era.
Understandably, a lot of the talk after the game has been around Declan Rice.
Rice has earned huge praise after scoring two brilliant free kicks against Madrid, while Mikel Merino has also earned acclaim after his goal.
However, this was a brilliant all-round performance from the entire team, and speaking on the Wrighty’s House Podcast, Ian Wright has hailed Myles Lewis-Skelly for his performance on the day.
Wright says that Lewis-Skelly bossed it against Real Madrid, noting that he doesn’t actually realise how good this young man actually is for Arsenal.

Ian Wright doesn’t realise how good Myles Lewis-Skelly is
Wright spoke about Lewis-Skelly and his performance against Real Madrid.
The pundit says that the teenager was incredible against Madrid, noting that he’s struggling to realise just how much of a talent this young man is.
Lewis-Skelly has been amazing all season long.
“Myles Lewis-Skelly, having another, like, I don’t know how many games he’s in, Ryan. Is he 17 games in now or 18 games in, in respects of his career at Arsenal?” Wright said.
“He’s playing against the greatest football club in Champions League history and bossing it.
“Sorry, but, like, I still don’t think people realise how good this guy is.” Wright’s co-host said.
“I don’t, I don’t realise how good he is. I don’t realise how good he is,” Wright added.
“I think to, first of all, lock down that left-hand side like you do in a defensive sense when you’re not a left-back, and then step up into midfield and just semi-dictate tempo against the European champions.”
Myles Lewis-Skelly stats vs Real Madrid
Wright hailed Lewis-Skelly for his performance against Madrid, and it’s fair to say the teenager deserves this praise.
The full-back was ridiculously good against Madrid, he put in a performance beyond his years, and the stats back up the praise he has received.

It’s hard to remember at times that this young man is just 18 years old.
Lewis-Skelly hasn’t played many games so far in his career, but he’s already shown that he relishes the big matches.
Lewis-Skelly bossed it against Real Madrid, he starred against Manchester City earlier this year and he scored on his England debut too.
The teenager is already showing that he’s becoming a big game player at Arsenal.
