“The way Thomas trains and lives speaks for him continuing his career.”
After 25 glorious years with Bayern Munich, the most decorated player of the club is leaving. Thomas Müller’s departure came as a shock to the sporting world, but some justified it and some questioned the decision, its timing and the explanation given.
As it turns out, the 35-year-old, who hasn’t started a game in ages, started against Borussia Dortmund in one final Der Klassiker. His extraordinary performance has made things all the more clear — he has always deserved a starting spot in Bayern and continues to show zero signs of aging in his game.
Sporting director Christoph Freund may have been a part of the entourage who decided not to extend Müller, but he too is convinced that the Raumdeuter is far from retiring.
Per Sky, via @iMiaSanMia, he says he is convinced that Müller has the energy to take on something new, and that it is not over for him.
“He’s thinking about it. No matter where he goes, he will strengthen that club,” he praised.
Freund concluded by declaring that “the way Thomas trains and lives speaks for him continuing his career.”
One can only wonder why that club Müller strengthens cannot be his own Bayern Munich. Does everyone in the club want to watch him play, just not in Bavaria?
