Player Tottenham have made £30m bid to sign dazzles in thriller, Vinai Venkatesham will be impressed (opinion)

Tottenham are struggling right now – but moves are still being made by those in the boardroom.

Vinai Venkatesham has just been named CEO at Spurs (Chief Executive Officer) as Daniel Levy makes a significant backroom change – a man who previously spent 14 years with north London rivals Arsenal.

Tottenham have also approached Oliver Glasner of Crystal Palace amid huge uncertainty surrounding the future of Ange Postecoglou in N17.

There has also been a transfer offer made, with Spurs submitting a £30m bid for Wolves No.3 Rayan Ait-Nouri as the north Londoners aim to improve their options down the left.

Tottenham actually faced the Algeria international at Molineux in Sunday for the Premier League clash between Wolves and Spurs, and he did his chances of a big-money summer move no harm whatsoever with a fine performance.

How Rayan Ait-Nouri fared against Tottenham as Wolves No.3 delivers perfect audition

Wolves are only two points behind Tottenham after beating Spurs 4-2 at Molineux, so the left-back might need some convincing about a move to N17.

However, if he does show a willingness to agree personal terms, we would presume Tottenham are happy to push ahead and finalise this £30m deal after seeing his talents first-hand on Sunday.

It took Ait-Nouri just 85 seconds to score the opener, volleying beyond Guglielmo Vicario after a poor punch by the Italian for his fifth goal of the season.

The Algerian also played a key role in Jorgen Strand Larsen’s goal to put Wolves 3-1 up, robbing Cristian Romero of possession before teeing up the Norwegian for a tap-in.

It was an important moment in the match, as Mathys Tel, who impressed Tottenham fans, had only just clawed a goal back to make it 2-1 five minutes earlier.

Overall, it was a strong display by the 23-year-old, completing 85% of his 26 passes, winning five of his six duels and creating two ‘big’ chances.

Spurs have backup options to Rayan Ait-Nouri

Ait-Nouri is not the only left-back Tottenham are being strongly linked to.

TBR Football understand Spurs have stepped up interest in Tyrick Mitchell across recent weeks, with the Crystal Palace No.3 set to enter the final 12 months of his contract in June.

The England international is not as dangerous going forwards as Ait-Nouri, but if Tottenham can secure his signature in a cheap deal, it could prove to be inspired business.
