Tottenham fans send a clear message to Ange Postecoglou after Guglielmo Vicario’s two mistakes vs Wolves

Tottenham Hotspur fans have a clear message for Ange Postecoglou after watching Guglielmo Vicario’s two shocking errors against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Despite his strong appeal for an interference, Vicario gifted Wolves the lead within 90 seconds after punching his effort into the path of Rayan Ait-Nouri, who stroked the ball home with ease.

The Italian goalkeeper has looked rather nervy since returning from injury and he was also partly at fault for the hosts’ second as his saved rebounded in off Djed Spence.

Tottenham Hotspur supporters have now been discussing the 28-year-old’s place in the team following his two errors which led to Wolves going 2-0 up at Molineux.

Tottenham fans question Guglielmo Vicario’s spot in the team

Tottenham fans have been questioning whether Guglielmo Vicario is good enough to remain at the team’s number one after his mistake at Wolves.

The consensus amongst the Spurs faithful is that the Italian international is a great shot-stopper, however, he is too prone to making mistakes which can put the team on the back foot.

Some supporters have called for Antonin Kinsky, who Djed Spence recently hailed, to maybe come back into the team having lost his place following Vicario’s return from injury.

After conceding after just one minute and 25 seconds, Tottenham fans took to X to share their frustrations towards Vicario.

One fan said: “Is Vicario really our long-term goalkeeper? Or just a decent stop gap from Lloris?”

Another claimed: “As it stands, I’d rather have Kinsky in goal. Better now than Vicario and has greater potential.”

There were further question marks over Vicario: “Genuine question, what did Kinsky do wrong for Vicario just to march back into the starting 11?”

Finally, another supporter stated: “Vicario isn’t anything close to what our fan base big him up to be. He’s at fault for as many goals as he saves us, that’s for sure.”

It was a first 45 minutes of football to forget for Vicario as he was again at fault for Wolves’ second goal after palming his effort against Djed Spence and the ball ending up in the back of his own net.

Even the Tottenham fans in the away end at Molineux were frustrated with their goalkeeper, with Adam Bate reporting on Sky Sports: “Ironic cheers from the away end as Vicario claims a cross.”

Like with Manchester United and Andre Onana, Ange Postecoglou will now need to decide whether to continue with Vicario for their huge Europa League clash with Frakfurt on Thursday.
