Midfielder Jorginho may have played his last game for Arsenal.
Playing against Brentford in the Premier League he suffered an awkward landing, and was unable to finish the match. He subsequently missed the Champions League quarter-final with Real Madrid and the Premier Leagues matches against Ipswich and Crystal Palace, and now there are doubts if he will play again this season.
And that effectively could bring down the curtain on his career at the Emirates. The 33-year old is out of contract this summer, and it seems increasingly likely that he will be moving to Brazil – the country in which he was born – to continue his career with Flamengo.
During the last international break he was spotted in Brazil, and there have been suggestions that an agreement may already be in place to join Flamengo before their participation in the Club World Cup.
That would be an inauspicious way to end his time at the Emirates for a player who may only have been a squad member, but who has been a strong and influential voice in the dressing room.
