Despite their best efforts at Chelsea on Saturday, Everton were unable to grab a result to inspire a push up the Premier League table.
With four games left there’s no realistic proposition of David Moyes’ Everton side reaching the top half and the relegation spots beneath them are already decided.
Of course, having arrived mid-season himself, Moyes will be very wary of any Everton player considering themself to be ‘on the beach’ at all.

Moyes will already be planning for Everton’s move to their new stadium next season, a campaign in which the Toffees will aim for a top 10 finish — a season with no mention of the bottom three spots.
And with more than one key player coming to the end of their contract at Goodison Park, change could be on the horizon.
Joe Cole’s chat with Dominic Calvert-Lewin at Everton
Perhaps the most high-profile of those players with imminently expiring deals is Dominic Calvert-Lewin, a striker besieged with injury problems over the years.
Calvert-Lewin is ready to leave Everton via TBR Football’s information, a striker being eyed by Manchester United and Nottingham Forest among others.

And when covering Saturday’s game against Chelsea for TNT Sports, pundit Joe Cole shared an interesting chat he’d had in the week with Calvert-Lewin when he visited Everton.
Initially speaking about a possible squad rebuild for next season, Cole said: “Yeah you wouldn’t want anyone but David Moyes, someone who understands the club and the type of character that’s needed to play for Everton.
“Idrissa Gueye and [Abdoulaye] Doucoure have been fantastic servants for Everton — it’s what do they want to do?
“It’s the second oldest team in the Premier League so they will need young blood. They’ve got a lovely platform, they’ve got the best man in charge I think to regenerate this club.”
Then pressed on Calvert-Lewin’s situation, Cole replied: “Talking to him on Wednesday, he looked happy, he said his body feels good, you know.
“He’s a fabulous player when he’s fit and he’s at it. He can be as good as [any] number nine around.”
Everton’s out of contract players
Of course, it’s not just Doucoure, Gueye and Calvert-Lewin who will be leaving Everton this summer as things stand.
Along with the loan deals which will end, the likes of Michael Keane and Ashley Young will also be out of contract.
Depending on who Moyes decides to keep, there could be a huge revamp ahead of moving to their new Bramley-Moore Dock home.
It should be mentioned that Everton are interested in signing Richarlison, a player who might actually entertain a move back to the club from Tottenham Hotspur.
And Everton are interested in another Tottenham player too, a busy summer for both sides.
