Bukayo Saka is set to become the highest paid player at Arsenal, as the club look to secure him to a long-term contract extension this summer.
The club are reported ready to offer him ₤300,000 a week, with negotiations led by new Sporting Director Andrea Berta, aware of Saka’s status at the club, and the talisman for the project under Mikel Arteta.
His current contract, which he signed in 2023 is worth ₤195,000 a week expires in 2027, but the Gunners do not want to let that run down, and are keen to tie down the England winger.
Real Madrid are reported to be ready to bid in excess of ₤100 million for his services after his performances against them in the Champions League, but Saka remains firmly committed to Araenal, recently affirming that he wanted to win trophies “wearing this badge.”
For their part, the club do not need convincing of his importance to the team, and the damage that was done to their title prospects by the hamstring injury that kept him out of action for the best part of four months this season.
