Bayern’s backline might be about to experience a shakeup.

Kim Min-jae has had a turbulent experience at Bayern Munich thus far, looking like one of the best defenders in world football at times, and a few mistakes off Harry Maguire levels of banter at others.

Coming to the end of the 2024/25 Bundesliga campaign, Bayern seems poised to have a busy transfer window with several players’ futures up in the air. With a total of five first-team centerbacks at the club, Bayern would be open to selling South Korean international should the right deal arise for both club and player. Previously, it was revealed that Chelsea, Newcastle, and Juventus might all be interested in the player, and journalist Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that several European clubs are monitoring Kim’s situation. It’s also been unveiled that Saudi clubs are inquiring about the player.

If reports are to be believed, Kim’s high wage demands are a factor that many of his potential suitors are concerned about. If Kim views this as an acceptable step at this point in his career, a move to Saudi Arabia would make sense for all parties, as Saudi clubs historically pay high wages to their top players and can afford high transfer fees.
