Man United preparing ‘audacious €100m swoop’ for two Inter Milan stars

3 Min Read

Manchester United are reportedly prepared to splash out €100m (£85m) swoop for Inter Milan defenders Denzel Dumfries and Yann Bisseck.

The Red Devils are expected to overhaul their squad in the summer transfer market following a difficult 2024-25 campaign.

They are languishing in 14th place and on course for their worst-ever Premier League finish after mustering just 39 points from 34 matches.

Ruben Amorim‘s side could still salvage a trophy and Champions League qualification if they go all the way in the Europa League.

Even if they achieve Europa League glory, there is seemingly a consensus that the club need to make signings that help the team succeed in Amorim’s preferred 3-4-2-1 system.

Man United plotting double Inter swoop

Man United are believed to be closing in on a deal to strengthen their attacking options with Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Matheus Cunha.

The final third appears to be one of their priorities for the summer transfer window, but they could still look to recruit in other areas of the pitch ahead of the 2025-26 campaign.

According to InterLive.it, Man United are plotting a €100m (£85m) double swoop to sign Inter’s Dumfries and Bisseck this summer.

The report claims that they are willing to pay €40m (£34m) to recruit Dumfries and €60m (£51m) to prise Bisseck away from the Serie A giants.

Do Man United need Dumfries or Bisseck?

Dumfries would suit Amorim’s tactical system, having proven he can operate as a right wing-back during his time at Inter.

However, it is difficult to see a place for him at Old Trafford unless Man United offloads either Noussair Mazraoui or Diogo Dalot.

Meanwhile, there could potentially be space for Bissek to strengthen Man United’s centre-back options, with Victor Lindelof and Jonny Evans set to depart this summer.

With that said, a centre-back is unlikely to be a priority for Man United, given the fact they can all upon Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt, Lisandro Martinez, Harry Maguire and Ayden Heaven.

There would also be doubt about whether Dumfries or Bisseck would be open to joining Man United if they fail to secure European football for next season.
