Arsenal supporters have had their say after several claimed William Saliba had dropped a subtle hint about his future amid reported interest from Real Madrid.

Saliba, 24, has been a mainstay in Arsenal’s defence in recent years, having joined the club in 2019.

The France international has formed a solid partnership with Gabriel Magalhães in Mikel Arteta’s side and is arguably one of the Gunners’ most important players alongside the likes of David Raya, Martin Odegaard and Bukayo Saka.

And despite Liverpool being crowned Premier League champions on Sunday, Arsenal still have the best defensive record in the English top-flight having conceded just 29 goals in 34 league games during the 2024/25 campaign.

The centre-back is under contract at Arsenal until the summer of 2027, although this may not stop other clubs showing interest in signing him.

As reported by the Mail, Real Madrid are targeting three Premier League stars – including Saliba – as they look to bolster their squad this summer.

As things stand, they risk ending the current campaign trophy-less, having dropped out of the Champions League at the quarter-final stage and lost 3-2 against Barcelona in the Copa del Rey final on Saturday (April 26).

They also trail Barca by four points in the race for the Spanish title with five games remaining.

And even for the best players, turning down Real Madrid is not something that happens often – although it is unclear if any official approach regarding Saliba has been made.

However, Arsenal supporters think the player himself has given a huge hint about where his future lies.

Several photographs emerged on social media last week, which show Saliba’s new home gym set-up.

And some fans on social media think his investment in the gym is a major hint that he may be staying in north London for a while longer.

One said: “This one ain’t leaving Arsenal.”

Another added: “Do people doubt he’s here for the long haul?

“Madrid can do what they want, put out all the PR articles they want about being in his ear. I believe 100% he’s committed to win trophies here, and if we don’t, that’s when he’ll likely want to leave!”

A third claimed: “It means he is not going anywhere.”

While a fourth commented: “He is here to stay!”
