Never before has the 29-year-old – currently in his fifth season at the Allianz Arena – netted as many as the ten goals he’s provided Bayern‘s top-flight title charge in a single Bundesliga campaign. His previous best was eight, and he has, in fact, only ever reached double figures in a single league season twice before in his career, netting 10 in 2017/18 and 2018/19 with Manchester City. The smile on Sané‘s face tells a tale of a player who is currently bursting with confidence.
Very much back in the Germany fold after undergoing groin surgery following UEFA Euro 2024, Sané’s numbers at both international and club level have been impressive, particularly in the second half of the season following a build-up of momentum.
