TBR Football can exclusively confirm what Chelsea sources have been saying about Emanuel Emegha amid interest from the likes of Everton and West Ham.

Chelsea are set to be busy in the summer transfer window and strikers are in their sights as Enzo Maresca looks for additional firepower.

Chelsea are currently leading the race to sign Liam Delap and the Blues believe the lure of being the first-choice number nine will help them to land him.

However, Emegha is also in their sights, and TBR Football can also confirm what Chelsea’s plan would be for both players.

Chelsea ‘hugely impressed’ by Emanuel Emegha

TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey understands that Emegha could yet be an option for Chelsea this summer.

Some at the club believe the 22-year-old should get a chance at Stamford Bridge.

BlueCo understand that Emegha is set to leave, despite only arriving at Strasbourg last summer.

A host of Premier League clubs are showing an interest in Emegha, as previously revealed by TBR Football.

We revealed in March that Strasbourg and BlueCo were ready to let him leave – with a possible huge profit in the table.

Everton have held talks about him, whilst West Ham, Brentford and Fulham are a number of clubs have also enquired.

However, since then we can confirm that Chelsea have been doing further work on Emegha.

And the Blues are “hugely impressed” with what they have seen and been told by Strasbourg staff, according to Bailey.

At present, there is no suggestion that Emegha is or will become Chelsea’s top summer striking target ahead of Liam Delap.

However, there are some at Stamford Bridge who think he could become their third attacking option alongside Jackson and their other new front-man.

As it stands, Spanish youngster Marc Guiu is the main back-up to Nicolas Jackson, whilst there is also Armando Broja due to return from his loan at Everton.

Emanuel Emegha factfile

Emegha came through the ranks at Sparta Rotterdam and had spells at Royal Antwerp and Sturm Graz before joining Strasbourg for around £12million in 2023.

The 22-year-old struggled in his maiden season at the club, claiming just nine goals and two assists from 31 games, but he’s already exceeded that tally this season.

Emegha is currently on 14 goals and three assists this term, from just 26 Ligue 1 games.

‘Standing at 1.95 metres (6ft 4in) and weighing 82 kilograms, Emegha is more than just a physical presence,’ the Ligue 1 website wrote recently.

‘He is a charismatic leader who organises team outings and brings a sense of camaraderie to the dressing room.’

Emegha has also been impressing for the Netherlands Under-21s, with three goals from nine caps.
