On the rise.

Bayern Munich has another home-produced prodigy on its hands.

That’s no secret. Aleksandar Pavlović, at just 20 years of age, has already proven to be a major figure if not key player (when healthy) for club and country — a stunning rise over the course of less than two seasons.

Sometimes, you just need a chance. And now Pavlović is getting well-deserved recognition — breaking into the Top 10 of ESPN’s list of 39 best U-21 men’s footballers.

The German international checks in at No. 9 and is quoted as boasting an “estimated transfer value” of €50M on the current market — not that Bayern is about to sell such an asset!

In the ESPN write-up, Pavlović draws comparisons to Javi Martínez and praised for his “composed and measured nature” and “exceptional maturity” — while adding that he could evolve into a more physical player, given his stature.

Just ahead of Aleks on this year’s list is FC Barcelona’s Gavi. And dropping off the list this year from a Bayern perspective is the club’s last wunderkind — Jamal Musiala, who at 22 is now too old for consideration (Editor’s Note: oof, that was tough to write).

Way to go Aleks!
