Chelsea lineup vs. Liverpool: Predicted lineup for Premier League clash after Robert Sanchez update

2 Min Read

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca is hopeful of having Robert Sanchez available for Sunday’s Premier League showdown with champions Liverpool at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues’ number one – who excelled in last weekend’s 1-0 triumph over Everton – was not part of the squad to face Djurgardens IF in the Conference League on Thursday, having sustained a small knock during the week.

Maresca could not confirm Sanchez’s availability for the weekend in Friday’s press conference, but he did stress that the Spaniard was in a better place than Christopher Nkunku, who is also nursing a minor issue.

However, Nkunku would have never threatened Nicolas Jackson‘s place up front after the Senegal international followed up his winner against Everton with a brace off the bench against Djurgardens.

Cole Palmer, Noni Madueke and Pedro Neto should all support Jackson in the attacking third this weekend, while Moises Caicedo could revert to a more familiar midfield role with Enzo Fernandez.

The Ecuadorian occupied the right-back slot against Everton as Romeo Lavia manned the midfield, but Malo Gusto should now return to his rightful defensive spot alongside Marc Cucurella, Levi Colwill and Trevoh Chalobah.

Wesley Fofana (hamstring), Omari Kellyman (thigh), Marc Guiu (thigh), Aaron Anselmino (unspecified) and Mykhaylo Mudryk (suspended) are all out of contention for the hosts.

Chelsea possible starting lineup:
Sanchez; Gusto, Chalobah, Colwill, Cucurella; Caicedo, Fernandez; Madueke, Palmer, Neto; Jackson
