Chelsea are keen on a summer move for Morgan Rogers.
They believe the Aston Villa player could help them boost their attacking options for next season.
Like Cole Palmer, Rogers was part of the set-up at Manchester City, but he had to leave the club to achieve his breakthrough. He joined Championship side Middlesbrough, before Villa signed him in February 2024 for an undisclosed fee.
Having been capped by England at every age group from under-15 upwards, he ahs become a full international since moving to Villa, and has now earned four senior caps.
Villa do not want to sell a player they regard as a star for now and the future. However, they are facing PSR issues that may force them into unpalatable decisions. Their current wage bill is over 90% of their revenue, and their financial position could be hurt further if they fail to qualify for the Champions League next season.
