Man United predicted XI vs. Brentford: Possible lineup for Premier League match

2 Min Read

Manchester United are set to make wholesale changes for their Premier League trip to Brentford on Sunday afternoon.

A first-choice Red Devils XI enjoyed a productive evening in the Basque Country on Thursday night, when Ruben Amorim‘s troops beat Athletic Bilbao 3-0 in the first leg of their Europa League semi-final.

Sitting 14th in the Premier League standings, United’s domestic campaign is all-but over, meaning that a second-string side will feature in West London this weekend.

Amorim has confirmed that full-back Noussair Mazraoui will sit out of the Brentford battle, with fellow defender Patrick Dorgu also expected to drop out.

Vacancies on the flanks are likely to be filled by academy graduates, with Tyler Fredricson and Harry Amass set to turn out from the start in the Premier League.

There should be a sprinkling of experience amongst a host of young heads in the visitors’ XI at the Gtech Community Stadium, with Christian Eriksen and Mason Mount preparing for promotions from the bench.

There was a welcome return to action for influential attacker Amad Diallo in Spain last time out, however Amorim is unlikely to risk starting the 22-year-old against Thomas Frank‘s Bees.

Man United are unable to call upon the talents of Diogo Dalot (calf), Lisandro Martinez (knee) and Joshua Zirkzee (hamstring), limiting the Red Devils’ senior options.

Manchester United possible starting lineup: Onana; Fredricson, De Ligt, Shaw; Kamason, Ugarte, Eriksen, Amass; Mainoo, Mount; Obi
