“That’s the life of a goalkeeper.”

Bayern Munich drew 3-3 to RB Leipzig on Matchday 32. With the goal difference, it is almost certain that the Bavarians have won the Bundesliga.

The first half featured perhaps one of the most subpar Bavarian performances in recent times. The first goal in the 11th minute was not just result of a defensive lapse but a massive goalkeeping blunder by Jonas Urbig. The young goalkeeper who has otherwise been perfect found himself helplessly spectating as Benjamin Šeško scored in close-range with little to no trouble.

Explaining the way things transpired, per @iMiaSanMia, Urbig said that he thought he’d get to the ball in time. “I have to stand high up the pitch because the backline is also high. I slipped on the way back and things went badly,” he elaborated.

Of course Urbig is young and yet to learn a lot. “That’s the life of a goalkeeper, mistakes are punished immediately, Of course you’re annoyed after the game, but I have no negative thoughts. It won’t make me go off track,” he declared.

Certainly it it’s important that he not be discouraged regardless of how ‘costly’ his mistake may be.
