A roller coaster.
RB Leipzig managed a last-second draw in Saturday’s match against Bayern Munich that may just have effectively decided to Bundesliga title.
Leipzig raced out to a 2-0 lead with goals through Benjamin Šeško and Lukas Klostermann in what was one of the most insipid Bayern performances of the season. With a title on offer, the Bavarians could not muster the requisite energy or spirit to look anything other than lifeless.
However the second half was a different story. A quickfire double put Bayern back on level terms, and Leroy Sané pounced late with a beautiful finish to send Bayern on its way to what would surely be a win…until it wasn’t. Leipzig leveled again with nearly the last kick of the game, leaving a number of other Bayern players to rue their near missed chances.
