TBR Football can exclusively reveal that Jorrel Hato is set to sign for a Premier League club in the summer.
Liverpool are interested in signing Hato — who has been on their radar for months — sparking speculation after he was spotted at Anfield watching the Reds beat Ipswich Town 4-1 in December.
However, the Dutchman is not only attracting interest from Arne Slot’s side.
Arsenal are keen on Hato’s signature as well — who is valued at £40 million.
Jorrel Hato is one of the best young defenders in the world and it is natural why he has caught the attention of several Premier League clubs ahead of the summer transfer window.
Arsenal desperately want to sign Liverpool target Jorrel Hato
TBR Football’s chief correspondent Graeme Bailey has been told that Arsenal remain hugely interested in signing Hato from Ajax.
Considering Hato, who even Chelsea admire has been tracked by Arsenal for over two years, sources close to the Emirates Stadium have revealed that the club would be loathed to miss out on his signature.
However, the likes of Liverpool and Chelsea have also been doing work to sign the Ajax centre-back — who has mostly operated as a left-back this season.
Virgil van Dijk is a “big fan” of Hato — which could be ominous for the Reds’ rivals to sign him as Arne Slot is keen to sign a new left-back as well.
However, aside from the English clubs in question, TBR Football understands the 19-year-old is sparking interest from Real Madrid as well who are also taking steps to potentially prise him away from Amsterdam this summer.
Jorrel Hato has already been speaking to one Arsenal player
But for once, Los Blancos have a disadvantage in a race to sign a player due to his sights being set on playing his football in England.
Hato idolises Jurrien Timber in any case and he could well have a chance to play alongside him at Arsenal.
Hato revealed he’s been speaking to Timber as well about his change of position at left-back this campaign: “I think I’ve improved a lot this season, especially at left-back. Last season I played a lot as a center-back, but this season I’m just a left-back.”
“Yes, I did talk to Jurrien about that. He made his debut as a full-back and left as a central defender.”
“And now at Arsenal, he plays everywhere in the back! He’s definitely a role model for me.”
