‘Not an issue’: Bayern Munich director clarifies Harry Kane’s future amid links to Tottenham and Man United

Bayern Munich’s sporting director, Christoph Freund, has been discussing Harry Kane’s future amid links with a return to the Premier League.

Kane ended his long-awaited hunt for silverware over the weekend as Bayern were crowned Bundesliga champions after Bayer Leverkusen’s 2-2 draw.

Despite appearing to be settled in Germany, Kane’s release clause for the summer of 2026 has raised question marks over his future at the Allianz Arena.

However, Freund has just addressed Kane’s future amid links to Manchester United and a possible return to Tottenham Hotspur.

Harry Kane’s Bayern Munich future is ‘not an issue’

Christoph Freund has dismissed the possibility of Harry Kane leaving Bayern Munich anytime soon.

Bayern’s sporting director has admitted that he is not concerned by the 31-year-old’s future despite rumours of a release clause in his contract.

Speaking about Kane leaving, Freund told Abendzeitung: “That’s not an issue. (Kane is) generally very well respected in the team. He gets along well with everyone. He’s in the prime of his life and has acclimatised himself superbly in Munich. (Even the departure of his friend Eric Dier in the summer) doesn’t directly affect Harry.”

TBR Football revealed last month that Kane is set to stay at Bayern for one more season, and now, that has been confirmed by the club’s director.

Kane has been linked with a return to Tottenham, meanwhile, Manchester United could also come into the picture should he become available.

However, both Premier League clubs look set for disappointment in their quest to bring Kane back to England, as he is well accustomed to life in Munich.

How much is Harry Kane’s release clause at Bayern Munich?

Harry Kane has a £54 million release clause in his Bayern Munich contract and it will become active during the summer of 2026.

It is been reported that last summer the former Tottenham striker had a £66 million release clause active, however, no clubs opted to trigger the option or managed to entice him away.

TBR Football has previously revealed that Kane is open to returning to the Premier League, but at this stage, that remains a long way off.
