Liverpool fans have been reacting on social media after seeing what Federico Chiesa did on Instagram.
Last month, Arne Slot successfully led Liverpool to the Premier League title during his first season in charge.
The Reds secured their 20th top flight title after thrashing Tottenham Hotspur 5-1 at Anfield.
Over the weekend, the newly-crowned champions were in action but produced a poor performance as they fell to the 3-1 defeat against Chelsea.
However, the defeat has not dampened Liverpool fans’ mood as they continue to look forward to the team lifting the trophy on May 25.
Recently, it was spotted that summer signing Chiesa liked a post on Instagram, which has since gone viral.
The post in question was a meme from the popular TV show The Office and was captioned: “Federico Chiesa being named ‘Signing of the Season’ in all the LFC end of season awards posts.
Reacting on social media, one fan said: “Hope he can succeed at Liverpool.. needs some playing time.”
Another tweeted: “Love Chiesa. Good sense of humour.”
A third fan added: “Shows what a great bloke he is!”
Someone else wrote: “Wish it had worked out better with him, seems like a great guy haha.”
A fifth commented: “The lad has a sense of humour!”
Another fan said: “That’s class.”
It has been a tough season for Chiesa after he joined Liverpool from Juventus in the summer.
Due to multiple injury issues, the 27-year-old has only managed to make 13 appearances, scoring twice and assisting a further two goals across all competitions.
Against Chelsea, Chiesa was brought on in the 82nd minute and that was his fifth Premier League appearance, which means he will now automatically qualify for a winner’s medal.
When asked why he brought Chiesa on so late in the match, Slot explained: “Because I decided to bring other players in first, because I already brought Darwin [Nunez] in, so that wasn’t a position I could bring him in.
“Then Cody Gakpo, I liked him a lot today, he played a really good game and I’ve changed him and took him out in the last few weeks many times already.”
He added: “Mo [Salah] is always a player that can score a goal, so that’s why I first made different substitutions. In the end, I would almost say what people expect from me over here is we take an extra risk, so get a defender out, bring Federico in.
“That also led to us scoring the goal, but not enough time left for him to make the difference, unfortunately.”
Chiesa will hope to make Slot’s starting XI when the Reds return to Premier League action on Sunday against Arsenal at Anfield.
