Report: Liverpool set price tag on Darwin Nunez as European giant enters the race to sign him

2 Min Read

Liverpool appear open to letting Darwin Nunez leave the club at the end of the season and have set their asking price for the striker with several clubs keen on him.

Despite winning three trophies at Anfield, the striker has struggled to make an impact on Merseyside following his move there three years ago.

The 25-year-old has netted 40 goals in 140 matches which is not the greatest return considering Liverpool paid £85 million to sign him back in 2022.

Nunez and Liverpool could now part ways in the summer transfer window with a new major European club joining the race to land him.

How much do Liverpool want for Darwin Nunez?

Liverpool have set an asking price of £42.5-47m for Darwin Nunez, with Napoli joining the race to sign him, according to Alfredo Pedulla.

The Italian league leaders want to sign a striker next summer and have added the Uruguayan to their list of targets.

The Reds are prepared to take a fairly significant hit on the forward as they look to recoup some of the money they paid for him back in 2022.

The Saudi Pro League is also after Nunez. There has also been reported interest from Atletico Madrid with Diego Simeone keen on Nunez.

Does Darwin Nunez want to leave Liverpool this summer?

TBR Football revealed back in February that Nunez is open to leaving Liverpool, given his time at the club hasn’t been much of a success.

The striker is no longer a first-choice option for Arne Slot having started on just 26 occasions this term.

His goals and assists have also taken a hit this campaign with the striker netting 15 times and assisting on four occasions.

Liverpool have been linked with Alexander Isak and are hoping to sign a striker in the summer, therefore, Nunez could be the man to make way.
